My baby was backed into this weekend by a young man. Any advice on how to match the paint color with whatever they do to the door? Is the entire car going to need to be painted? Any suggestions on how to handle the actual body work? I will be taking it to a shop. I am guessing they will need to cut it out and weld a new skin on? Thanks!

The last time 'my baby' was backed into by a young man, chaos ensued.
I was booked and threatened with 10 to 20.

But to your issue, yes that should be just a skin replacement. There's nothing behind that which was damaged.
Kinda like the dollar.
Yet I digress.

I do not think so, I am being told - new door, possibly two - not sure why two by one guy, and then painting anywhere from two panels to half a car. The paint will not match the entire car, so the quote for a new paint job is $10K, but that will not be covered by insurance. Does that seem in line with the market?

Cannot tell from the picture but a good paintless dent repair shop should be able to pull that out and not require painting. Usually only need paint if the paint somehow cracked when the metal creased.
