I love my MM211 and picked it up for exactly the reason you mentioned. I don't have 230v now, but will someday and everything I read said buy the biggest you can reasonably afford, so that's where I landed at.

And southerntaco, I guess you can mark the lockouts, knuckles, cv's, ect. spoken for when the time comes. :hillbilly:

And where are all the pictures of this half-finished project?

Ok jynx cool there yours. U can me a offer after I do it and we see what condition it's in at that time lol.

I like it. How much did you end up chopping all total?

Took out roughly12". You can do 13" on these but we went with 12" so we had a lil extra metal to play with to get the gaps lined up...so maybe 12.25-12.5".

Still gotta finish the hundreds of tack welds left. We got the outside panels about half done and haven't touched the the inside of the bed yet. We could get it done in a good 8 he work day once we get another hood. I will buy one come the 30th so I'll have a good one so I'll have it when I get my new welder. Im borrowing the Lincoln135 were using and a Western Supply Harbor Freight hood. It lasted 10 years so got the money worth. Looking at one from Northern tool thats bout $50 that has 5 star reviews. Has a 1/25000 switch to darkening. I also like the Save face hoods for $100-150. They have some cool looking designs I like. Well see..probably end up with the $50 one.

This also brings the bed at the end of the shackles for the 63s. We are gonna leave a couple inches of frame past the bed and get the trailgear2x4 tubing with a receiver built in to act as a bumber that mounts between the rails and later build off it to the side and make a wrap around high clearance bumper which will serve as a solid mount for some fender tube protection .kinda a bed slider if ya will.

I got a hobart hood for Christmas a few years ago and it is great. Auto darkening with some adjustments for darkness and switch speed. Only suck thing is remembering to turn it on, which I have forgotten a couple times. only takes a second to realize it...

Nope I will notice next time the helmet won't darken. Guess it broke and I started and didn't realize it at first then started seeing this green dot and it stayed for a good two hours before it went away.. I'd look at Chris and see a big green dot lol it was everywhere I looked :0

Yeah I walked out and Zack said this thing is killing my eyes. I put it on threw an arc and was like uh its not darkening..lol

Did find a cheap fix. Unlike higher end helmets that have a place for batteries, this one has integrated batteries in the mother board. They are the flat quarter size lithium rechargeable batts. I found a site dedicated to fixing the helmet and you can solder new ones in place, or get a couple AAA holders and solder the wires up and mount the battery holder in top part of hood for easy access. Think I'm just gonna replace the stock batteries tomorrow if my $30 soldering iron will work. If not I will take it to work where my nice Hakko unit is. Wish I had $4-600 to buy a nice Hakko or Metcal machine.

Well the 3 year bob is about finished. Maybe a Lil more grinding, some more welding on a few spots and done. By the time we monstaline the rockers and over the weld area it won't be noticeable at all. The new tube with receiver should be in soon and we can mount it and cut off the extra frame and be some other than the cosmetic portion but hopefully next pay day he will get the bed liner and we can finish and touch up a few other neglected areas.

A little pic b4 the monster liner
