Seems like prices have gone up. New to me 2000 LX 470 had the annoying chirping. Ordered a motor on eBay for $55 +10 shipping, which is still cheaper than buying an OEM unit. Seller has 4 left OEM Heater Blower Fan Motor ONLY Denso AY194000-5093. Link The most PITA part of replacing is getting the cage off the old motor. First had to use a mechanics pick to pry/deform the tab and then 2 screw drivers in between the cage and motor and wiggle it up for around 3 minutes before it finally got off the old motor. Washed up the cage and put it on the new motor, and reinstalled it. No more chirping. :)

Any other parts / pieces needed for this? I've been wanting to do it, but just dealing with the chirping. Maybe it's time to get it done

Meant to post this pic from when I removed and replaced fan part. Needed prybar on either side to lift evenly, once little plastic tooth at top is pulled out a bit. Good luck.

I'm sure I can make sense of it once removed, but can you elaborate? Is there a snap ring or something keeping it secure , or do you just lift evenly and pop it off?

Just ordered the ebay replacement.

There may be a C clamp, but I do not recall. In the second pic I added, the left side of that circle that you can sort of see was a plastic tooth that locked into a groove. You have to pry that out gently without breaking AND use the prybars to move straight up evenly. Not hard, you just need to be gentle enough not to break.

It’s a little plastic tab that snaps into the lip of the motor rod. I used a mechanics pick $2 from harbor freight to pull it out a bit. Metal vs plastic meant it basically got deformed but it got the job done. Then just use any two straight objects, in my case screw drivers, to give leverage to get the cage off

Any of you guys have luck lubricating these motors? Mine has the chirping in lowest two speeds, which is usually where it's set at. I pulled it apart and cleaned it today which unfortunately did not reduce the sound. Maybe lube would help? Not sure where or with what. Anyone?

Just received my replacement motor. It was an exact replacement. OEM we’re close to 200 clams. I searched for a Denso replacement and found one for 55 clams.

I’m in process of trying to get this GD Cage OFF!!! PITA.

I’ll be returning the 4 seasons one I picked up at NAPA for 90 bucks. Which made a buzzing/whining noise at low speed. Super annoying. Fingers crossed I don’t destroy the cage. My last motor I destroyed trying to tap/smack out the shaft with punch. Naturally, it blew out the back of housing like someone’s previous post.

Anyway, Denso (194000-5093) exact as OEM replacement is on eBay for $55 bucks.
