Here is the deal i have the chance to get a 94 x cab pu 4x4 22re fuel injected with a bad motor for less then 500.
Now here is my dilema. Do I find a used motor 4 cyl or do I go w/ a 89 chevy tbi 4.3 v6 . now this will be a light wheeler as I have a hard core fj40 . It will become my dd and tow rig . So i am leaning to the v6 or a v8 w/ same specs.

If I go w/ the 4.3 is there any links to the swap including the adapters and pn . I have a downey cat. as I have already done the v8 tbi swap in my 40. so the wireing or fab is not an issue I just need a reliable vehical . Any sugestions from you mini truck addicts at this will be my first mini truck.

Howdy! Lookin at doing similar plan on my 85. 4.3 V-6 is plenty of power. V-8 has enough to break parts a lot, and it is 25% more engine heat to deal with. Get the 4.3 with the counter balance shaft, but I am not sure what year they started that. John

I have a friend w/ 84 w/ a 4.3 and a nv 4500 with np205 but I really want to keep the stock trans and no drive shaft mods. If it is possible. You know keep it cheap and simple.

Howdy! Check with Advanced Adapters to see what all different engine/tranny adapters they have. May be able to use the existing gear boxes with the 4.3. John
