Changed the name of the thread as I had the wrong name for the color ...

Finally (a year later) upgraded the tires to 275/70r18 General Grabber ATX. I purchased five with the intent of doing a five tire rotation. Haven’t had them off road yet- probably will be a while for that. They are real quiet on the road, just a tad louder than the stock tires that were on it. Great looking tires. Really helps delete the soccer mom look!

I have the same color and hate the gold emblems. Can I see how the plasti dip looks on the front? Also, was it pretty easy to do?

Post #13 on page 1 shows the grill. Nothing special, easy to do. I probably will remove, sand and paint a "satin" black at some point to more closely match other black parts. But the plastidip is very easy and has worn fairly well.

Painted the wheels over the last couple weeks. The plasti-dip I’ve trailed for a while on some emblems has started to peel and have a cheap appearance. Also I wanted a semi-gloss black to match (as close as possible) the existing OEM black trim. Based on results, I’ll be painting all the trim and chrome, including the front grill that was plasti-dipped and the chrome stripe down the side.

Sanded with 400 dry.

Step one complete. These went back on the wheels as I did one at a time.

Also sanded dry with only 400.

Masked off and about 5 coats of Rustoleum self etching primer. We‘ll see how it holds up.

Wrong order but prior to primer obviously.

The topcoat was Rustoleum semi gloss black enamel. About 5 coats all said and done.. No clear so I can theoretically touch up if needed.

Hubs on while I paint the wheels one at a time.

Masking removal. The longest part of the job was sanding and cleaning. I think I did a decent job.

I upgraded to the Slee Group 31 battery tray and installed the Interstate 31P-AGM7 battery $330 locally and only special order. I have to change out the negative terminal still as I don’t have the proper connectors for that. Not sure yet which ones to use. I did change out all supplied hardware for stainless metric as the provided was SAE. Since everything on the car is metric and all my tools are metric it just made sense to me. Otherwise easy install.

Also, the first battery Interstate sent to my local shop was completely dead. Never had that happen before.

It took me a minute, but finally removed the plasti-dip and painted with semi-gloss black to match the wheels. More trim to come.

Replaced connectors on cables for negative terminal with military terminal provided in Slee Group 31 battery tray. Bought the connectors and tool off Amazon, then loaned to my daughter for her van build.

Got the RAM iPad (Air 2) mount to use with the Owl Expedition mount from Amazon.

This was an easy  job. Just pull the trim pieces (I use the plastic trim panel tools), then remove and partially disassemble the console / stereo / nav. Don’t lose one of the screws down a vent...:bang:

What is the piece bolted to the military clamp? Do you have a link? Thanks!

Slee makes aluminum extensions and sells them with their battery upgrade kits here: Slee Offroad

Not sure that they sell the extensions alone but they do come with the military terminals that they sell.
