Occasionally on water crossings in my BJ73 the Battery light and Filter light will light up - then go out shortly after. Any ideas what this is indicating? I assume it's something to do with water in the Alternator

There should be a water filter under the truck or on the inner guard have you drained this. The filters are all tied to the same circuit as the charging side when my regulater went down a few weeks back it lit all the filter lights up on the dash.I would put a multi meter across the battery and check the charging side as well.

I'm aware of the fuel filter/water separator, it's not that.
The lights only stay on for a couple of seconds directly after a watercrossing.

It'l be the belt slipping in the water, the filter light also comes on when your alternator isn't charging.
