Hope it's OK. Gotta say I cant see anyone stealing a BJ60 for a fun filled joy ride.

Cool! How bad? Stripped or just bagged, rolled and in a ditch?

Found parked in Vancouver, minor damage to the hood apparently, shayd said he couldnt pick it up that day (cop stuff or sumthin) but it sounds like its intact and driveable, just hopes no gasoline was added

That is good news. So no ignition damage? Maybe just stuck an old Toyota key and it worked?? I've heard that
before. Glad he got it back.

There ended up being no damage. The hood was cracked open, my guess is they didn't know how to start a cold diesel haha... and they must have used an old Toyota key to start it... definitely investing in a club and a kill switch.

Club is a little useless but a kill switch is a good idea.

I took to doing this:

Locked in reverse... hope they're good at backing up :)

That's what people say about the club, but if they look in, see it and don't have time you're gold.
99% it's a 15 sec job, they wont' risk getting caught in a truck/car.
I like the chain, good one.

In theory the 'club' is not that secure. Hell, just unbolt the steering wheel with the club on it and put on another! But cruiserpilot is correct, it's enough extra hassle that the common joy ride steal your stereo thief won't bother. It would have to be a planned theft which basically won't happen for 95% of the old cruisers out there. I had my old tercel 4x4 wagon stolen twice and broken into twice. I started using the club and magically it all stopped. It does the trick IMHO.
