BJ 60 Rear Leaf Springs Wanted

If you got "saggy butt syndrome" you need a lift kit. All '60 series rear springs sag over time.

Call Steve at EBI in Port Moody. Cost depends on brand and how much other stuff you want (shackles, greasable pins, poly bushings etc. etc.). I had a busted rear main as well when I went for the lift. You can feel the truck squirming around when you drive it with the busted rear main.

Crap, figures, I threw out a full stock set a couple months ago - nobody wanted them. As for replacing them with new ones, I've though about different options when I was doing mine and in the long run the best price and choice was a Belton 2.5" lift kit. Right now the Old Man's are about the same price. Considering that stock new ones will cost about the same as a lift - it's worth getting the extra couple of inches.

A lift kit will NOT be $400 for each corner.

re-arching is gay, go for new OME springs ,shocks, shackles and pins and it'll ride better thatn factory call EBI at 604-461-3540 and ask for steve

I have been in touch with a company called Dendoff Springs in Surrey. They quoted me $233 each for the rear leaf springs. They are made new right there. Sounds like a good deal. What do you guys think? The garage I have the cruiser at is still quoting me around the $400 mark...each! I will give Steve at EBI a shout as well. Thanks.

Okay, if you have the money it is gay, but if you don't it will get you by until you have the cash for new springs. Doesn't sound like this guy is flush with extra cash right now. But that is a mute point as I just re-read and see he's got a broken spring. They don't re-arc very well.

If cash is a problem, I suggest he hit Craigslist, BC4x4 and a few of the wreckers. If he's got money, OME. I am suspect of local spring companies which don't do Cruiser springs regularly. The local place here in Abby wanted to do coils for me but didn't even have a clue what I was driving.

Edit: Try MUD Classified as well. there is a set of four (older) springs for just over $200 plus shipping: https://forum.ih8mud.com/sale-parts/206418-fj62-springs.html

Re-arching or "add-a-leaf" is a waste of money. I did that and the spring snapped within a year. Start budgeting for a lift kit and new springs all around.
