If anyone is interested, I have about 60+ pictures of this job when I did it in Sept., including close-ups of all the parts as they came out, as they got cleaned, and as they were replaced.

I was planning on labelling the pics. with arrows and the like, but never got around to it. Now is maybe the time to do so.

Junk, if you are interested I'd be happy to pass the pictures on to you if they will help.

I also have a copy of my invoice from Dan so I can scan that into a jpeg. image and post if necessary as well.

Best.

beno,
If you would not mind, those pics (even more so with labeling) could be a huge help to many folks. Most of us here have been through this and have some pics, but getting one set as complete as possible would be a huge help.

I’d pass on the invoice scan thing though. Prices change over time and I would not want someone to think they were getting a bad deal etc.

The email address for me in my profile has no limit as to size, so please send anything to that email address.

Thanks for all the help folks. Looks like we’ll get this pulled together.

I do know that somewhere B had previously posted steps in 3 different depths of completion – I think one as a quick fix, one as a fairly complete maintenance and one as fully complete as an anal cruiserhead would go. Now I just have to find the right post.

Could it be this topic in Technical Links you were thinking of?

Someone can do a better write up than I did (link in tech section) - it was my first attempt and all of a sudden I was the pro.

I'm waiting for the video to come out - I don't think it will make it as a best seller but at 4+ hours it will be good value for money.

I am sending my pics. onto Junk and Zipastro later today...I'm going to try to label, within the jpegs, parts, socket sizes, and commentary from my experience (I was geek enough to actually take notes... ).

In any event, I think getting as many pics. as possible, with labels and commentary will be essential in having a good FAQ for this...of course, an Academy award winning flick wouldn't be bad either!!

Best.

A couple years ago I set out to write up an FAQ, but kind of wussed out towards the end, got tired of wiping my hands clean to grab the camera again. Plus it was getting late so I didn't do the knuckle bearings.. was really just a birfield repack. But if anyone wants some pictures you can have at it, here: http://www.nakari.com/80/birfield.html But I pretty much gave all credit to you, Jim.

In fact, I want to go back in there this winter still, want to switch sides with the birfs also put in better moly grease on the inside.. and probably shouldl have my inner axles sleeved, to repair my grooves. I can't get on mud anymore from work  though, otherwise I'd all for spearheading the writeup.
