Partially installed part-time kit:

Sooo good lookin.

Got the bearing installed. Just a night in the freezer for the spool and some love taps from the dead blow and she’s on! Still need to grab some gear oil to finish the job but getting very close.

Finally got around to installing the spool for the PT kit. What a PITA that turned out to be. Broke 3 bolts while removing them (help me understand). Also pulled a muscle trying to remove the bolts holding the diff half to the rest of it. Finally managed to break them free with shear brute force somehow. Fixed the broken bolts and put her all back together. On a related note, I inadvertently did a one wheel peel pulling out of a parking lot. Didn’t know she had it in her.

In other news, I’ve been trying my hand at making my own spare swing out carrier. Parts are a combination of jungle website specials, stuff I designed in CAD and scrap I got from my previous employment.

s*** is hard work. Makes me appreciate even more all of the R&D that goes into stuff like this.

Few other random happenings:

Installed this turbo timer the other day. Maybe unnecessary, but I dig it.

Fam and I went to the Frio for a mini staycation. Lost a bumper corner but got to see/hug the 3rd largest tree in Texas unexpectedly. Much more impressive in person.

One of my many failed attempts at printing the manifold adapter I designed.

Took way too much head scratchin’ and tube wrestling to be fun. That’s not true. I had a little fun building my first intercooler setup. Definitely glad to be on this side of it though. The s***tiest part of the whole thing is turning the corners at the core support and under the battery boxes. I appreciate even more now the amount of time and energy that’s put into the kits on offer for these.

It’s ugly as sin, but it’s all connected. I’ve since decided to forego the 3D printed adapters. I can’t get the flange to stay flat to the manifold and not leak. I’ve tried both a PDI style (shown) and a Plazmaman style. Now I’m waiting on an adapter from PDI.

Still have to modify the turn signals to clear the tubes unfortunately. Hopefully I can knock them both out before the big move to Durango and SAS #9 the first week we’re there.

Ok, that’s pretty dope.
