FWIW for years my driver side hood corner hangs over the bib where pass side is barely over, I've tried all the adjustments, nothin, resigned to a twisted frame.
Reading thru the hood align thread and this one I came across Algazy's statement that the body mount under driver & pass feet will cause this misalignment up front if compromised, so, I looked, I'll be damned, the pass side has a FULL 1/2" thicker spacer than the driver side, if the bolt will come out it will get fixed before Rubithon. I hope this solves the hood/bib align.

Here’s another trick I figured out today. Lots of measuring as I reworked the entire body, just not the front firewall.
Figured out rear body line was off by eyeball, measured and sure enough needs to go forward on driver side.
Measurement front frame diagonal to body also off 1/4”… at one point this had to be square as its engineered vs full custom.
SO, employed some persuaders to help me position.

This got me close enough that I’m not drilling spot welds or hogging out slots.

Rear still slightly goofy but I’ll accept that due to my handiwork.

I will be struggling with the same soon with the additional complications of a Gozzard tub. Can anyone with an unmolested 40 tell us if the tub is supposed to be fully flush with the rear cross member and if not, what kind of offset should there be? Also, what is the measured space between the bottom of the tub and the top of the rear cross? Thank you!
