Why do the garment hooks in every Toyota/Lexus car have to suck?

I'm in the middle of a 2-1/2 week long road trip, and have 8-9 shirts on hangers. When you are living out of a suitcase, I really don't want to cram them in there and have them get all messed up. So I tried hanging them on the hooks in the ceiling. Yah they suck, not happening. So I have to just lay them across my stuff in the truck, when means they end up in a ball eventually.

Anybody come up with something better? Thinking of fabbing up something that attaches to the headrest on the front passenger seat, so the shirts can hang down in the second row foot well (no second row seats now).

Ya, I've seen them, trying to get them down below line of sight and out of the way.

Wooden hangers with normal, turnable hooks.
-Hang on row 2 grab handle behind driver.
-Holds a ton.
-Never obstructs driver views.

I suppose this will do, I'll have to get some of those hangers. All of mine seem to be the plastic ones, which are not as configurable. Next trip.

I use the hook on the grab handle for a sweatshirt or something warmer in the winter. I do travel with misc. crap on the middle seat on that side, so too much stuff hanging makes a bit like exploring a jungle.

I've seen traveling salesman who are on the road a lot that have a bar that spans from one side to the other that they hang their clothes on. I'm sure you could find or fab something similar.

This sort of thing:
That's what I use in the back, hanging from the grab bars. I discovered quickly that going comfortably fast down a washboard can cause one or both ends to leave the grab handles and hit the floor...a cable tie or 2 on each end between hooks and grab handles is a cheap fix.
