"Small feller"?

I'm 6feet tall. Why not get a cruiser?.............. I have 2...89fj-62(for sale) and a 450.

That's why. :flipoff2:

I much prefer the 80 over the disco but the disco is my trail truck now with 6 inches of lift and 14inch 7100's. I'd sell it if I could but i've beat the s*** out of it so it's not worth anythng, even though it has a bigger new engine, newer t-case,etc.

By the time you are done with it, you really think the e-locks will be cheaper? I haven't figured it out, but I'm not so sure I see how, unless you hit a junkyard score.

Theres no way you don't already have some sort of OBA on that truck that could run ARB's, and even if you didn't, its something that can be done very inexpensively and it is something that should be there anyway.

Cost-and your wheeling a disco?

Back to the question, I think you could do a search and find some wreckers with great prices on complete thirds for the same or less than a ARB in a box. Then you have to set up the ARB, extra costs.

I agree go with the complete third, good luck with your search.

WTF??????

J/K................................... :D

I too would consider ARB though.

so, seriously, what's the parts compatibility like between Discos and LCs? These are similar axles?

Nothing is really compatible. A little bit of machining on the spindles so that the 30 spline axles will fit and a little bit so that the longfields fit.

I already have an ARB in the rear of my truck and love it, but the cost to get 2 3rd member set up with ARB is too high. I can get a complete toyota 3rd member with electric locker for under $900 new. The damn ARB is $750 alone.

The disco has tiny 24 spine axles.
