I have a Holley Truck Avenger carb too.
It works as advertised - 30 degree side to side tilt, 40 degree inclines. Spring loaded needles. Tall vent line. Bolt it on and it works.
That's the good news.
Now the negatives. This is one carb that you definitely do not want to oversize for your engine. My 350 is stock. The PO put on a 670 Truck Avenger. This carb is way too big for the application. I just don't turn the engine over 4000 rpm. Doing all the formulas, it should have something from a 390cfm to 470 cfm. The 470 Truck Avenger probably would have been a better idea. But even then, these carbs run way rich. They're designed for an engine with a big cam, large ports and large valves. I've jetted mine down substantially, put in the stiffest secondard spring, and changed the power valve. It runs leaner now, but the mileage still sucks (9.2 highway) and the power is less. I don't think it's going to get any better than this. It's still on the rich side, but won't lean down any more.
I was getting ready to find and put on a 2100. Hadn't considered a Quadrajunk. But with all the recommendations above, perhaps I ought to consider one. I don't know much about them. Just how much tilt can you put on one? Anyone have a favorite online tuning guide they'd care to recommend? Need to figure out what options there are for chokes - like integral, divorced or maual. Are they sensitive to fuel line pressure? Anyone with a 350 powered FJ40 and a Q carb, what's your mileage like?
