On bigger runs I've always been in the middle or the rear. There are few times that I have led. My rig is of average ability and my driving is average to above. That being said the leaders have not always been the best or worst.
I think more important than position is communication on the trail. Making sure we all have cb/ham and can talk about how we are all doing is more important!
