Hi,
I am about to change my bearings out on my HDJ81 and am following the FSM. It states to use plastigauge and torque to 27ft lbs then 90°.
My question is it ok to use these new bolts again after torquing them to the stretch factor during plastigauging for the final button up of the new bearings? Or do I need fresh bolts?

Its a long 3-4 hr job if the FSM is followed. I just did it last year. For peace of mind, replace the bolts, they are inexpensive.

I understand to use new bolts, I have them ready. My question is, is it ok to torque the new bolts to spec + 90° for plastigauging. Then use those same bolts for final assembly.

I actually dont know the answer to that, and I forget if I used the new bolts or old bolts for that process.

Torque to spec bolts. Use once.
If no errors in old
Bearings i have skipped plastigauging

I just did the bearings today and used taiho. They all plastigaged at .0015 inch.
All 6 bearings had no abnormal wear at 173000km.
1992 HDJ81.

Here are the bearings I pulled from my 1992 HDJ81 173,000km.
