Just want to be sure this thing is really happening...

Hey Guy's just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Brian Little and I'm the VP of Jeeps for Joy, Inc. and also VP of Delaware Jeep Association. On Oct 13th we're having our 2nd Annual Jeeps for Joy Benefit Run at Rausch Creek. It's the same day as your BBRC Fall Crawl. We're not asking you guys to join us that day since you have your own event going on but I just wanted to let you know what's going on that day. We are asking each vehicle to bring a new unwrapped toy that day to donate to our cause. We give these toys to children at AI duPont's Hospital for Children and also Childrens Choice Foster Care. These kids greatly appreciate getting a Christmas that they may otherwise not get. If you guys can find it in your hearts and wallets to help us out that day the kids will greatly appreciate it. It's not mandatory for you guys, since your not there for our outing but if you could, it would be great. We are also having raffles that day that are mostly jeep related but there are a few items that you guys might like. If you want, stop by our table and check them out. We'll have a truck up near the entrance that day, taking donations so if you want to make a donation you'll know who we are.

Here are some links to our event and Jeeps for Joy if you'd like to check them out.

Sounds like a great deal, ill see if i can remember to throw something in the truck fo dee chirren.

What's this I hear about a rape increase at Echo Valley? $25/day to camp?

The comfort inn looking better all the time, maybe cheaper too!

Word has it that tent camping went up 2 times in the recent weeks, from $12 to $14, up from the $10 she charged some last time. I still vote for RC.

I just got off the phone with Echo Valley. Here are the rates for the Fall crawl:

Tent camping in the Pavilion are ( base camp for the event) will be $14.00 per person. This includes acces to water, power, bath houses on site, and access to camp under smaller pavilons in case of bad weather. There will also be mens and womens porta-potties at this site.

The other option is primitive camping, no water, elec, and long walk to bath house. This rate is $25.00 for two people per night.

I can not force people to camp or hotel anywere. We picked this location due to the closeness to RC. Again, everyone is welcome to camp/stay wherever they wish. The BBRC guys and Trail Team will be at Echo Valley. We all realize that this is not Red Ridge, but if you remember when Paragon first opened Red Ridge was not nearly as nice as it is today. This will take time but it is a large facility and they are willing to allow the Wheeling community to come in with trucks, trailer ect to camp repair rigs and do what we please. After many long conversations with Echo Valley they intend to grow and make things better for the Wheelers but remember it takes a lot of money to do this and by us staying there we are investing in this and helping pay for it to happen.

I hope to see everyone at the event.

Where is the pavilion rob? Is it over towards the back by the office and such?

Thanks Rob, that helps. I saw on the Echo Valley site that tent camping was $25/day but I didn't look far enough that that covered a private tent area.

Matt,
The pavilion area is in the back left area of the facility. If you remember where John and I parked, look left to the woods/creek and then go left. There is plenty of room to camp, some room to park in side that area and a good amount of room outside of the area to park as well. We will be using that big grass field to park trucks and trailers in and for overflow camping.
I plan on heading up Thurs am and getting there just after lunch to set up and get things going.

Rob

My plan is to skip my evening class on thursday and leave around 1 o'clock, which will hopefully put me there with time to get camp setup before dark.

Ive got a bunch of used gear oil to bring up, dwight had such good success with scorching eyebrows last year i thought i might give it a shot.

I know it's late, but if I get the application in the mail today is it too late? It probably won't get there before Oct 1.

I think you will be ok, im gonna send in mine tonight. You arent the only late one. We are making extras of things like tshirts and such so although we need a count if you are running late just send it in and post up, it would suck to not come because you sent in your application a couple days late.

I'm putting my application in the mail today. I guess better late then never.

Dale

Keep sending them in!! We will check the po box up till the end of the week.

Deadline extended till 10-06-07

Rob
