Dick blew everybody away with his FJCruiser. Between his driving and the ability of the rig, I for one was very impressed. His rig is 100% stock except for the atrac button we installed, it is even running street tires. He made it through some nasty bits of trail and made it look easy. After this trip the FJC has another notch in the handle AKAIC.

With a 4" lift and some 35" tires I think it would have made the whole canyon.

Dick and his FJ made a believer out of me too! Very impressive...especially for a stock rig. It was fun to watch Shawn and Dan (Bruce too...he added an element of suspense with his *eep...with all the right pedal action and big-block mania I was thinking mechanical life-flight for sure...but he made it (with a little less oil than when he started) navi their 40's through the rock garden with barely a scrape...and no 'crunches' that I heard...impressive!

WOW!
Awesome pics of the run gents! My 62 would have been bangin around on that boulder section pretty good! Looks like a fun time. How long did it take?
One of the pics, it looked like "bumblebee" was pretty close to smackin the front pumpkin!
I was toiling away in the garage on the SOA! I has to be done though!

Gald everyone had a good time and made it through safely!

Shawn hung on his diffs a couple of times, as did Bruce. I clipped my rear a few times but never hung up. Of course I took the pansey route a few times.:o

I did a little wheel clearencing, the result of no bump stops. And clipped the DS fender on a rock. I also tested my budget sliders, Toyota steel has strong Kung Fu. All I did was bolt some angle iron to the rockers in the existing running board holes, it took the weight of half the rig on a couple of occasions.

How long did the run take start to fininsh?
Looks like a run Id like to take to cut my teeth on when the SOA is finished. Relatively close to home, pretty technical...I like it!
"PANSEY route":princess:

We left my house at 8:30AM and got home by 2:00 or 3:00 PM. I'm going to try to get back up there a few times before the roads get to muddy just to get some time in on 'Ol Rusty.

Glad to see the Rusty TLC out on the trails!!! Looks like you guys had great weather and a good group of folks, sorry that I could not be there.

It was a great day. Sorry you missed it, I'm looking foreward to meeting you some day.
