Backspacing

How do you measure the backspacing on wheels? And, does someone know that the backspacing requirements would be for a 83 mini?

The back spacing is measured from the mounting face (On the inside side of the rim, where the lug studs go through) to the inner face of the rim(put a ruler, or strait edge across it). So the less backspacing, the more the rim and tire stick out. I don't know what an 83 needs, sorry

3 and a half inches should be about right

Your back spacing will also need to be figured with the width of tire you will be running. The wider the tire, the less spacing you will need.

I want to put some 15x10's on my 85 4runner, how much backspacing do I need?
