If this is the VIN (?), then it is a very strange one.
It may help to check the
Model Designation which should appear either on a plate on the firewall in the engine bay, or, on the “B” pillar (between the front and rear door). Then you should be able to see something like:
UZJ100L or UZJ100R where “L” is for left hand drive and “R” is for right hand drive. It is hard to understand what “W” means.
(If diesel, the first three letters will be different)
In your case for the 2UZ-FE gasoline V8 engine, the whole model designation should look like
UZJ100L-[six letters] where all the six letters have a meaning – see attachment.
It helps to know the model descriptor and model year but otherwise look through the years shown at this FSM site --

It is likely that a South African vehicle has a EU/UK specification.
At this link, go the menu panel on the left hand side of the page, open up the various selections for your model and year and pull down “MAJOR TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS”.
Look for your six-letter model designator and read down the relevant column until you find the “Chassis” section which shows details of
“Transfer Ratio H4/L4”
“Differential Gear Ratio (Front/Rear)”
“Differential Gear Size (Front/Rear) in.”
For example, my vehicle is HDJ100R-GNAEZQ -- see vehicle details below. This is the model designation, not the VIN. In my case, the code means:
HDJ – 1HD-FTE diesel
R – right hand drive
G – station wagon
N- Lift up back door
A – 5 speed auto transmission (A750F in my case)
E – VX (or Sahara in Australia)
Z – Multi-valve, turbocharger, EFI
Q – Australia
I know the specification for differentials given in the information for my vehicle are correct because I have used the VIN (not just the model designation) and checked with a local Toyota dealer who has access to Toyota Global Information System. In my case
Differential Gear Ratio (Front/Rear) 3.909/3.909
Differential Gear Size (Front/Rear) 8 inch/9.5 inch
Your vehicle will be different but you may be able to find the relevant information at the above link. A check with the Service or Parts Department at a Toyota dealer also may tell you what you need to know about your axle.
The axle designation for my vehicle is “AO2A”. The actual Axle specification details are exactly as they appear in all published information on my vehicle.
Be wary. There are various charts of axle designators on the internet but I found it hard to find exactly the right axle chart on the internet for my vehicle. My details are not consistent with some axle charts I have seen and I have concluded that I have been looking at the wrong axle charts.
