Mates,

I have been wanting to get an Eezi Awn awning but do not want to get a full size roof rack since I do have an offroad trailer. Any ideas as to being able to how I can best accomplish this goal?

Looking at the 2.5m awning with wall option.

Did search on topic but unsuccessful.

Thanks in advance.

Tim

I have my 2m ARB attached to Yakima cross bars which works pretty well. I'm not sure how you'd attach the the factory side rails...but with enough creativity I'm sure you could fab something up. A 2.5m awning will need 3 mounting points, so the OEM rack wouldn't be super ideal for that...

However you mount it, you'll want it to be pretty solid. The awning isn't exactly light weight, and when you're setting it up (in my experience with the 2.0 Eezi Awn awning) some tugging is required to unroll the awning and get the legs set up...something to keep in mind if you fab up your own mounting brackets.

Thanks Guys, I found a solution with the Eezi Awn G Clamps, these clamps are designed to mount their awning to factory rack. Exactly what I have been looking for.

They look pretty stout but I'd still be worried about supporting a 2.5m awning with only 2 of them. Let us know how they work out for you and if you end up going with 2 or 3 of them.

Digging up the dead here, but any feedback on the G-Clamps and how they held up?

Check out Rago Fabrication. They have a 4th Gen 4runner awning mount that's works with factory rail. I have it on my 4th Gen right now, but I could probably swap it over to my LX and confirm. I'm 99.9% sure it will work on a 100 series channeled roof rack. Here is a photo of it on a GX470 and also my 4runner (don't mind my DIY awning pole, a regular awning will fit on it too).

Sorry to bring up an old thread, have you checked to see if the mount fits the LX roof rack? Thanks!

Edit: nevermind, I found out it fits!

Yes, I have it on my LX right now. The rago mounts should fit any raised, inside slotted roof rack side rail (GX 470, 4runner, LX470, 100 Series Cruiser). For record, You do have to remove at least two legs of the roof rack to slide in the hardware though. It's probably easier just to remove the entire roof rack for initial install, or will take a lot of time and short wrench turns to mate the mounts together.

GearWrenches are you best friend.

Just loosen both sides on your factory cross bars and there is plenty of wiggle room to only remove the feet on the side your mounting your awning to.

AND: I pre assembled the mounts to have the awning as far out and away from the rig, that helps in not having to tighten, install awning and check clearances and such.
