Onur / Jon,

Either of you familiar with Beck Arnley dizzy & their quality?

I know you have found what is likely the issue but just outa curiosity, Do you have an aftermarket ignition shut down security system under the dash near the drivers left foot "pad". Those systems are nearly 20 years old now. I had one and it shut me down in traffic a couple times, then one day, the golden goose wouldn't start at all.

Distributor went in today. Truck runs, but it's running extremely tough & still sluggish through the power band.

No codes!?!?!?

Where should I turn my attention now?

This seems stupid, but are you spark plug wires hooked up correctly in both cylinders and the firing order?

Off a tooth?

That's what I thought. I've bumped it a tooth both ways & the problem just gets worse. Dizzy and timing seems very temperamental. Wish I had a timing light so we could set exact...

May try to advance 2 teeth tomorrow.

Update: advanced 2 teeth and she wouldn't start so I backed off 1 tooth.

BOOM!

Timing adjusted (PITA with the tiny window hidden in the far back).

Note: printing out the FSM and reading various posts on 'Mud makes mechanic work much easier.

Still have the issue that started all of this, so I'll be purchasing all new intake plumbing and some vacuum lines. Figure that's a solid place to start.
