I recently replaced my factory head unit (broken CD-changer) with a Pioneer AVIC. I know this is a minor frustration, but it bugs me that when listening to the radio, the song and artist displayed is for the song that was playing when I first tuned into a given station and the current song and title are scrolling by where the station title should be. Pioneer technical support didn't know what to do about it and I can't find anyone on the internet discussing this problem.

Does anyone else with an AVIC head unit have the same frustration? Has anyone figured out how to get it to perform correctly? The radios in my other cars don't have a problem presenting the real time radio data. Just this one.

I don't have that issue with mine, but I'll say that I'm slightly jealous that your area actually puts that info out through the waves. Have you tried updating or reinstalling the firmware? I just did an update on mine, and the main thing I noticed is that Carplay seems a bit more quick to react. Maybe just updating that stereo will iron out some wrinkles...

I notice that depending on the station, HD radio or otherwise, that info seems to change at random, like it's controlled by the transmission, it comes with inherent built in lag and delay. At least when I had it. 8200nex

Whatever you do, don't send it to pioneer factory service if it breaks. I hate pioneer ATM. I tuned into that pioneer hater and will post about it for years probably. SOrry in advance, the fickers.

Software update was the first thing I tried. It did improve Carplay somewhat, but did nothing to fix this problem.
