I was able to do a SO myself basically for the price of hysteer. I'm a junkyard hunter though, maybe spent $100 at the yard for bits and pieces to peice it together. That includes XJ rear springs, all the brake components (for the whole truck, read 12/69 single circuit unassisted brake system with the gay 9mm fittings). I was able to reuse the front drive shaft in the rear, and built a square tube front about $20 in steal. Reused shocks, still haven't replaced them 3years later 
one of these I pick up some BBCs. I did swap under fj60 axles at the same time though. It took a good two weekends for me to get it together, so I think the prices shops charge are reasonable.
