Automatic Fold Mirror Mod?

I purchased a 2021 Premium plus sport design last year. It does not have power folding mirrors. Would be nice when getting into vehicles parked on either side to have mirrors folded. Our 2010 limited Sequoia as power folding mirrors that work off a button by the mirror adjuster on the dash. What would it take to add folding mirror A switch would be fine.

This is great.

Added folding mirrors to my 2020 premium. (Can share details if there's enough interest... just requires me digging through my inbox.)

Auto folding would be a nice addition.

Your Premium didn't have folding mirrors??
I have a 2013 Premium and it has folding mirrors, but from 2010 to 2013, there were only two trim levels, with Premium being the upgrade. Will your mirrors also dip downward for a view along the ground next to your car for viewing parking lines when backing up?
Just to be sure, you referring to folding mirrors that fold from the mirror adjustment switch, correct, not the folding mirrors that fold automatically when you lock the car?

[2020]
Power folding & dimming side mirrors on "Luxury" trim only. Previous model years they were optional on lower trims

[2021]
Power Folding Mirrors added to Premium Plus Package starting with October 2020 production units
Auto anti-glare side mirrors on Luxury are "Driver Side Only" (Previous years included passenger side)

Yup.

Hard to believe folding mirrors weren’t standard for the premium trim… but that’s not why we buy these cars anyway 😜

Would be interested in some details. Was the wiring there and just need plug and plays pieces to make it work? Assume the whole mirror needed to be replaced? My 21 doesn't have the angle down while backing. Believe the 4Runner 2018 it replaced did have it. Mirrors have the indicator if a car.is in the blind spot.

Unless the mirrors already have everything needed it might be harder do do as seems most mirrors are NLA.

Thanks for the link. Dummy me I should have just read the owners manual. I was curious how much the Mark Levinson option was in 2021 (deal breaker without It when bought last year) when I seen on Premier package folding mirrors were part of the package. It has power folding mirror already. They do not automatically fold in when you shut the engine off. Has a toggle switch above mirror angle adjustment . Not sure automatically folding when the engine is turned off is a program option or not a. Not a big deal can easily fold the mirrors in with tight parking space.

Also figured out how to operate the mirrors so they aim down while backing. Feature I like and easy to turn on and off.

If you turn the switch on the dash to close will the mirrors fold in? While backing I some times fold the mirrors in while passing the door opening. I like to leave as much room as possible between vehicles. So park vehicle close to the side openings.

This is another ODB port harness but it looks like it leaves your OBD port open: https://www.ebay.com/itm/8000098383...pid=5337589904&customid=&toolid=10001&mkevt=1

Decided to give this one a try. Not going to a YouTube review. Certainly wouldn't be as colourful as the one for the pre 2020. This one does not replace the OBDII plug or go anywhere near it. It mounts inside the steering column. Instructions weren't the greatest. Typical poor conversion from Chinese to English. Looks at trying to pop the column halves open from the bottom. They is a panel there. Realized it has SRS on with an airbag. Behind it. Did get figured. Was a little tight getting tucked up and out of the way for the cover but very doable. Once done everything worked as it should. That includes closing all four windows when the doors lock. They was coupon which dropped the price to the earlier one. Good thru May 31st. Definitely this is was a worth while upgrade.
