Alright Guys, ready for beta 1
I need beta testers! This should be a complete, organized copy of the 1996 LX450 Repair Manual. Let me know if this setup works for you... if you like the directory structure, if it is too complicated, if it doesn't work at all, etc.
EDIT:
New Instructions to Try
Here are the steps (some stolen from the OP

)
1) Download the downloader package located here:
http://www.nate-online.com/tis/1996LexusLX450RM.zip
2) Unzip the package in a subfolder of the location where you want all of your PDFs. For example, if you want the repair manual in C:\Lexus\Repair\ you need to unzip the folder in the zipfile to that directory. This would mean that all those text files (etc) would be in C:\Lexus\Repair\1996 Lexus LX450 Repair Manual\Downloader\ after you unzip.
It is important to note the zip file has a directory structure it will unpack to keep your PDFs from spilling out into some directory and creating clutter.
3) Login to TIS (
http://techinfo.toyota.com ) and download any (one, random) pdf from service manual.
4) Look at the list of current cookies at your browser and find one from toyota.com named SMSESSION (In firefox goto Tools->Options->Privacy->Show Cookies)
5) Locate the file cookies.txt in the folder where you unzipped everything and copy the part of the cookie that is very long and cryptic
over the indicated text (the SMSESSION value will be long and look something like this F0M6xHW55..........)
6) Double click on begin_download.bat and follow the prompt. If you've done it correctly you'll get 873 PDFs totaling 20.2MB neatly organized.
Good luck and report back on how everything goes so I know what to change.
Below is a picture of how everything was automatically placed on my computer after running the batch file.
