Asking your opinion about importing a LC100 with the 4.2 Diesel

My mom has a 2001 LC100 with 93000 km on the odometer. It has the 4.2 Diesel engine. It is like brand new on the inside, no smoker and no pets. The leather interior looks great. But there are some Buts: The frame is very rusty, the AC stopped working. The left front fender between driver door and hood by the wheel would require welding. Is this something worthwhile importing into the US? I am worried this will be a constant money pit. I like the idea of just having one vehicle that is reliable.

We are looking to sell it if it stays in Germany.

What do you all think? I will provide pictures once available. Will ask my brother to take some.

If the LC is something you think will be your hobby, something you like to wrench, it will be worth it. Also keep in mind the quality of diesel here in the US is different from Germany, that will present different and more frequent maintenance routine.
