Every once in a while we mechanics who service Landcruisers get 'lucky' and get a little more information from a customer than just 'fix this, it doesn't work.'

Case in point. I just finished rebuilding what seems like thethousandth carburetor this year. Customer complains the secondary on his '71 seems sluggish. I ask him on the phone if his accel cable is OE, to rule out frayed strands that drag inside the cable housing. He says cable is near new. Go to put the carb back together and find the secondary jet had been swapped for the spare main jet, 1.08 where a 1.80 should be. That'd do it.

In the box is also this jewel, sets off alarms right away. PCV tube completely pinched off. AND, blue RTV all the way around the insulator.

Folks, DON'T DO THIS! If you find yourself wondering why, hit the search button, ok?
