This was a great trip; sorry you missed it. It was a solo trip; just my passenger, Jason, who some of you recently met on the Rainbow Falls trip, and my FJ40. We took off up I-25 and had an ignition miss so we went home and loaded the Cruiser onto the trailer, then towed it in comfort to Georgetown. Headed up toward Waldorf where we started seeing fields of brilliantly colored wildflowers. We turned right at Waldorf and worked our way down the back valley to the right where we camped in the spruce and bristlecones. Sat. afternoon, we headed up to McClellan Mtn. and hiked along the ridge overlooking Steven's Gulch and Gray's and Torrey's peaks, seeing some mountain goats. Visited the big mine and preserved mining building (new roof currently being put on it).

Camped that night at 11,000 ft in a top notch campsite and had a relaxing time around the campfire. Packed up Sun. AM and headed up to Argentine Pass where it was very windy and cold, then took the side road into the bowl where the power lines are and hiked around for awhile.

We drove the power line road that follows the creek and visited some mining ruins. All in all, a very relaxing and scenic trip. Vic
