are there dimensional differences between "nuts" for Japan/Europe/USA in HDJ80/HZJ80?

I have not found it in archive so asking this quick question here.

are there any differences, between dimension of nuts, screws, etc used in HDJ80 (HZJ80) in USA versus Europe versus Japan (HDJ81V/HZJ81V) ? Anybody has the knowledge on that subject ?
a collegue has warned me, if I import HDJ81V or HZJ81V from Japan to Europe, I will have problems with nuts dimensions, as they are dfferent in Japan than in Europe. Exchanging parts is, in his oppinion, also a problem.

would be great, if someone can comment on this subject

Iv'e got an HDJ81V import from japan & iv'e had no probs whatsoever getting parts, 99% of parts are just the same as european or uk models.

All the same nuts ,bolts and screws wherever you go. They are all a standard metric size.
The only difference Ive found is when I buy non original bolts the spanner size is the next size up from Toyota's,so a 12mm becomes a 13mm in aftermarket bolts.
The Toyota cars and trucks are the same nuts and bolts also

Parts are the same although they sometimes have different part numbers for parts that seem identical.

If your worried about parts interchangeability,dont worry.

An 81 series is a Japanese spec model ,and this appears to be an "optioned up"
model.All the other countries have 80 series

HDJ81 vs HZJ81 ,The HDJ is a turbo diesel model,the HZJ non turbo.
The info about model and engine/gearbox specifications appears on a aluminium plate on the firewall

Metric fasteners usually follow a simple system of: diameter in mm x thread pitch x length

For example, a common one might be: 10 x 1.25 x 50

The hex of the fastener may follow JIS standards or some other standard. The common JIS ones are 8, 10, 12, 14, 17, 19 & 24mm hex. German ones are commonly 8, 10, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19 etc...

US car makers use other sizes like 10, 13, 15, 16, 18, 22 etc...

Really, the hex in the only thing that changes a lot. The thread pitches and diameter of the threaded portion are pretty standardised.

Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS) are what Toyota specs.

(bolt size, not head size for Toyota)
6mm are often 1.0 pitch
8mm are often 1.25
10mm are often 1.25
12mm are both 1.25 and rarer 1.5
14mm are 1.5
16mm are 1.5

Seat belt bolts are 7/16" x 20 for US models.

(3sp transmission to bellhousing bolts were 13mm!)

Is it possible to get English version of Factory Service Manual that covers also Japanese models (ie. HZJ81V) ?

The Australian (ARL) is probably the closest to a Japanese vehicle as its RHD but I dont think the others are too far off.
The FSMs come in 2 volumes,an engine and a body/electrical.
The electrical schematics look like they cover everything.

The Europeans have different opening pressures for the diesel injectors to comply with their emissions standards.

I think there is also a general(GEN) FSM which covers landcruisers which are not market specific
