Hello In2cruisers,

I found a site recently that may be of use to you for parts numbers: www.japan-parts.eu . You stick in your VIN, and it'll go to the market your vehicle originated in. I've found that Troopies do not necessarily have the same parts numbers for rear lights, in that models which had swing out spare carriers had rear light clusters that had only the reverse lights functional, and there were light clusters to make up for that in the rear bumpers.
That site may be of use; let us know if that is the case for you, please.

Ted = Red
Orlando = Orange
Clarance = Clear

where have you guy been ???

Yes all 70 rear lights that mount in the body fit either model.

No. All two door lights are interchangable and all four door lights are interchangable. You can't fit VDJ76 lights into a shorty, middy or troopy body. But VDJ76 and LJ78/KZJ78 lights will bolt up to each other.

I too would like to know either part number or other id resource for tail lights with that arrangement of colors. Swing outs will probably block the lowest section.

These are for the 12V 70/73. Not sure if it fits a Troopy.

My other idea is to convert the existing reverse lights into LED amber turn signals. Then mount a Reverse LED light cube elsewhere on the swing out arm.

I will put reverse lights in the bumper. I'd like to have the turn signal lights in the middle as in the photo provided above.

I have that same question to ask. On ebay most of the tail lights i see say fj70/fj75. so i would assume that they will fit either the 70/75. But im looking for them for a 70. does anyone know for sure it wont work? cause to me they look exactly the same.

70/73 are 2 door models.

As hotgemini said, 2 door models fit 2 doors and 4 door models fit 4 door. Thank you for such succincness, I have a couple of spares I've
collected through the times and have not been able to make it easy in my mind to know the difference. I sure hope you are correct, cause I
wont' be able to forget it now...
