if memory serves me correctly the whole bumper is 3/16 with an additonal 3/16 re-inforcing plate in the winch area.

Acadia...I have a warn XD 9000 winch...how does a winch mount in that bumper? does it bolt straight down? or does it face the roller fairlead??? TIA Garth

it would have to face the roller fairlead

I know that you said you have to cut off the stock bumper plate and then put the ARB one over it...then what 3 bolts? do you have to drill the frame? or do they mount somewhere else? TIA Garth

you use the two existing tow hook bolt holes on each side and then you need to drill one additional hole towards the end of each frame rail.

Ok...I got to work a bunch of OT here this last week! so...I will order mine tomorrow...then I will track down some matching paint....does anyone know where to get some cheap factory paint? :D

I bought mine used and had to order new crush brackets and a few other parts from ARB. I cut off my flanges and had a shop weld plates with nuts in them on the ends of the frame rails. As a result, I have 4 bolts holding each bracket plus the others on the crush brackets.

My next mod is tires, what should I go with 265-75-r16 or 255-85-16s?

Well..I just ordered mine just now...paid 840.00 total shipped to my door for part # 3423020 FYI in case anyone wants to price shop! Later! Garth:D

looks good! reminds me of when i put my arb on my runner...i couldnt stop giggling.

fyi, theres 2 versions that will fit on 3rd gen runners. one is the tacoma one, which the OP has. it requires grinding off the flanged ends of the frame rails. the 2nd one is the one for a late 90's prado. its about 1-1.5" wider on each end, and IMO fits with the LTD flares alot better. its also a bolt in affair, without any welding or grinding. it has a 'W' cutout for a warn solenoid box, and no crush mounting brackets. there is a slight gap under the corner marker light area however...but its not really noticable. its also got a bit more adjustability in the fit. after i put a 1.5" body lift, i was able to refit the bumper abit higher to eliminate any gaps...

install is fairly easy. its not a light bumper, so either a buddys help or the help of a floor jack and jackstands is a must. i did mine in about 3 or so hours. i scored mine from trdparts4u.com

arbs look meat on toyotas. nuff said.

ok...minejust arrived today...the box was bigger than a coffin!!!!! unreal!!! what a waste of cardboard...I hope to have it installed soon!!!!!:D

Hey Acadia...I am done mounting my XD 9000 winch...the bumper brackets are on...so its time to place the bumper on the 4runner now....I think since I added the xd 9000 it will be more than one person can lift....when you put yours on...did it fit pretty easy? I did NOT follow the directions...it said to leave the bumper mounting brackets finger tight...I made them TIGHT...is there much of a gap where the bolts go? or do you think I should loosen the brackets first?

FYI...to anyone else who wants to use this bumper on a 4runner...the directions are trash....ask someone else what to do...it will save a lot of stress!! :bang:

i left them finger tight until i had the bumper on the brackets, then i snugged them down. then i adjusted the bumper where i wanted it and went back and torqued everything down tight.

HEY everybody...I just got an e-mail from WARN tech about a question about the "control box" ground wire hook up....ARB says to use the allen bolt on the chrome bars...WARN said NO WAY...use the same place on the underside on the winch where the black ground cable goes to the vehicle battery...FYI to all!!!:)

question...after I install this ARB with WARN winch..I am sure it will squat the front a bit...do I need to have the front end re aligned??

i wouldn't think so but i am not an expert on front end geometry :p

ok...the bumper is on finger tight...there was NOT 1/32" of room left over...it was tight...I hope I can finish tonight!! it looks good so far!!!:D

I am currently on my 2nd set of 255-85-R16s pizza cutters and love the lift the tires give me - I have not regeared and I don't rock climb but it still will pull my trailer with 2000lbs of fuel pellets (less than 10 miles) w/o problems - BUT on trips with long & steep hills it does down shift some. Just my experience & .02
