Ok, i saw it on the site a while ago... i need a compressor and want to get the ARB lockers in the near future. Ive been looking for reviews and found a few but i want real world feedback, not reviews and comparisons. I would use it to air up tires once in a while and especially when getting a flat in combination with my safety seal puncture kit.

Anyone use it/seen it in action allready?

I wanted to know everyones impressions before i bought one... can you fill up a 33' tire with patience on one of those? i want to get lockers anyway but i dont want a worthless pump...

thanks

I too have them sitting here on the shelf... and have installed several already too... BUT, other than using it to activate lockers, I havn't tested it.

I will say this... the older unit (RDCKA) was putting out ~1cfm, and did "ok" at airing up tires... the new CKMA12 unit puts out over double that! So its stands to reason it will be better than "ok" :D

Can't wait for the CKLA12 ;)

Any progress in testing with this compressor... might be giving myself lockers for Christmas :S....

Yup, so far so good... I've used one to air up tires, as expected it performed at par with the older unit. Likely faster but we didn't get a timer out ;) I plan on swapping out my RDCKA for the new CKMA12, although my RDCKA works great, its 6-7 years old. Just as with the RDCKA, the CKSA12 & CKMA12 are fully rebuildable and I know ARB is stocking most of the replacement parts in Seattle as I've already ordered a few (broken tanks from improper install).

The new combo pump up kit should be pretty neat too, but I rarely get a call for those as most prefer to have them vehicle mounted.

sorry to bump a very old thread, but i just thought i'd post a little info about my recent ARB CKMA12 install.

anyway, to air up a 265/70/16 tire (basically a 31) from 15psi to 30psi, it took only 47 seconds! it's a great product and i recommend it to anyone with air lockers or just someone who could find on-board air handy. i got mine from Welcome to AllJeep.com! We are here to help you get it right...The first time! for $202, by far the cheapest online after exhausting multiple search engines.

Hi everyone,

Am in a spending mood at the moment, and was thinking about replacing my compressor.

I have a HZJ78 - 285/75R16, with the old ARB compressor for my front and rear diff lockers. I have always been too frightened to use it for inflating tyres.

I have now seen that ARB has a new HD compressor - and was wondering, should I just replace the ARB I have now with the new one? Would I need to worry about it blowing up?

Or should I look at getting something like a Viair with 100% duty cycle. I don't need it very often but when I do, it is because I am in the sahara, so no replacement parts easily available.

So do I
a) Replace the old ARB with the new Ckma12 (should fit in the same spot) (old arb taken along as spare part)
b) Remove the old ARB and replace with Viair 460c and a small tank (lines to lockers need to be re-run)
c) Leave the old Arb and install a Viair only for inflating tyres...
d) other...

Cheers

Andrew

Depending on it's age I'd re-build the ARB pump and add the Viair. The parts to rebuild an ARB are cheaper than dirt. Call ARB USA and they will hook you up, great guys to work with.

If it in deed needs a rebuild that's a good option... fwiw we stock all of the rebuild parts for the RDCKA as well as an assortment of used components from them too (tanks, motors, etc).

The unit is about 7 years old, and has probably been used for a total of 3 hours during that time, as it has only been used for my lockers. My 4wd is mostly in the desert, and I only very rarely need the lockers - but when you need them, it sure beats shovelling! :) What it looks like inside however is anybodys guess - with the sub 0c temperatures here, etc.

Thanks for the offer Kurt, but as I live in Germany it may be easier to get a rebuild kit here.

Stilling mulling over this one.

Cheers

Andrew
