April 27th Run - Shelf Road area

After camping at Sand Gulch Saturday Night we took a run in the loop road behind the Cliffs. Very cool wheeling back there. Definitely had to go 4 low but nothing a stock rig couldn't handle Next time we take shelf road I suggest we add the Sand Gulch to Banks Campground loop road.
Yes off shelf road about 10 miles before you get to Canon City. Just as you exit Shelf road at the Sand Gulch Campground, the road forks. Going right takes you into Sand Gulch Campground go left to take the loop road which goes behind the cliffs and ends up in the Banks Campground. Plan at least 2 -3 hours

Is that the time it took you to get around? Thats good info. I really was wanting to do that with the group but the
es and little es wouldn't have been able to put off lunch that long. Oh well. Thanks for the update!
