the bluetti ac50s is fine with pass through charging

the bluetti is connected to the fridge and the car outlet
Maybe it's a voltage issue rather than amperage. The bluetti says it will charge on 12v, but maybe it's having trouble with charging on the truck voltage. Is the AC adaptor a 19v adaptor? Maybe either using a step up converter to increase the voltage out of the 12v port from truck, or maybe try connecting it to the solar input? Not sure if all those circuits are tied together within the bluetti or if they are different.

I just found this goal zero lithium charger that i may try out if none of these new charging cables work since I figured out that the unit will charge fine if it using the original charger it came with but with my 8mm extension for the barrel plug that is when it is zeroing out the charge every few seconds. would that be voltage drop? the extension is 15ft ....

Looks like the VL Series covers are in.

Got the insulated cover in today.

first impressions is it’s well built, looks slick, has foam core so should add some insulating properties.

However, few big fails in design and ergonomics.

1. I have the VL45ProS on the drivers side of my SUV and therefore open the lid right to left. I think many people put fridges on that side as typicalply that is where 12v aux is and also allows for more room as passenge seat can be slid up. However, the cover only opens and unzips left to right. This is very inconvenient and makes reaching the zipper pulls almost impossible let alone opening lid easily. It might have actually worked better if cover opened laterally as would allow a quick flip towards drivers seat and use of lid in either configuration.

2. There is only a pouch on one side, the left side. This means that the pouch is useless when fridge is on drivers side as it sits against cargo panel of the SUV. There should have been two pouches installed add Velcro, clasps or Molle/pals webbing panels so you can switch which side it’s on.

3. Zippers are not YKK. They seem solid enough but I like YKK and just don’t understand why manufacturers save pennies using anything else.

Just got back from our 3rd, four day camping trip with the VL 65 (don’t quite have the Land Cruiser setup for camping yet). Bought it on the last group buy. It showed up without any damage, but had to contact
customer service about missing insulated cover which showed up the next week. Its performed flawlessly for our family of five. The only thing different is I would of bought the slider for it.

Is that a Jackery500 and is this your main power source?

It’s the Jackery1000. I do use it as my main power source. I have two of the Jackery 100watt panels but ended up using just one during the day to keep it charge. After the sun went down the Jackery would be at about 85% charge in morning. It was in the upper 70’s during the day & low 50’s at night.

are the 500wah battery packs enough to power a fridge for the weekend without solar panels? my bluetti seems to be running just short for Fri-Sun camp trips. Ran out of juice overnight sat to sun last time. the first time ran out of juice sat afternoon but I had the fridge set too low and compressor on max.

There are so many factors, i'm not sure how anyone can answer that for you. It's a fairly linear equation. Take the battery pack you are using now and multiply the AH by how much longer you would like it to run.

heh, It's either Wh or Ah, considering all appliances pretty much are measured in watts, should really just use Wh for everything.

Check out this post but the gist of it is the avg consumption is 20-35 W

So... take the avg about 27.5W over 24 hours that's 660Wh. Now consider this is in hot Arizona weather using a different model but that should give you some idea. If you wanted to rely on just the battery, a 500 Wh battery will run out before a day is over. You'd need like a 2kWh battery to last 3 days and that's like assuming it's 100% efficient which of course it never is as every time you convert energy from one form to another, there are losses.

Maybe closer to 2.2 kWh if you wanted it to last 3 full days.

A 2 kWh battery is yuuuuge and fracking expensive. You sure you wanna go this route? Maybe you could consider adding a solar panel to make things last longer.

You could keep it in eco mode and I've seen numbers drop down to 10.8W so you can stretch the fridge out longer.
