I sleep in the back of my 80 when I go on trips by myself with no probs. Work out great. I am looking for a good way to camp with my lady and son. I would like my son to sleep inside the truck while the lady and I sleep in an attached tent. This will keep the fridge, power access to dual battery, and son at hand. I saw this unit for sale and wanted to know if anyone else has given it a try. I see its sold at Wally world and target so I am questioning the durability.

I think it looks good but not sure about the quality. I think the screen room would be good for taking off shoes and storage but a bit small for hanging out.

I guess my issue with these things is that the place where you are able to park your car in most camp sites aren't always the best places to put down a tent. I would say 90% of the campsites I've ever been too only have one small area that is flat or rock free and it's usually not where you park your vehicle. If it did happen to be flat behind the parking area it is usually not as private and closer to the access road.

Plus there is a whole connect, disconnect and line-up if you ever want to take your vehicle for a drive while camping. Seems like a headache.

That's a new model from what I can recall of similar research a few years back. There's an illustrated pdf user's guide linked from that webpage which gives some more views.

It can be used without hook up to the vehicle, so this makes it more flexible.

The way the vehicle opening intersects looks a little iffy for water-tightness, but also would be easy to deal with with an extra tarp if it actually is an issue.

This is a similiar tent to the Campright set up.

I used this a couple of times last summer and really liked it. It's a Napier Sportz Model 84000 tent and has a attachment for to the backside of the LC or any SUV, Mini Van, Truck with a camper / shell. For about 350 dollars (check out REI, BassPro, or Amazon) it has a 10ftx10ft main sleeping area (and has plenty of height, one can stand up inside and walk around) with the screened in side room (6ftx7ft) and awning. Also comes with a rain jacket. The attachment to the back of the SUV is with a couple of straps to the wheel wells and roof rack. Took me about 40 minutes to set it up, but that was because of the wind and the tent would kind of start to kite away. It's made of poly / nylon blend but was a pretty darn good quality. https://us.napieroutdoors.com/store/catalogue/details/1/2/product_id:4/

The cool thing is you have a pretty moisture resistant connector to the back of the SUV, you can open the back hatch and get stuff in and out without getting wet and with a decent privacy. We didn't sleep in the back of the LC but in the main room. Plenty of room for 2 full grown downs (Aussie Kelpie and a Golden Retriever) and 3 adults (2 on a full size queen air mattress) and the other on a camping pad.

Everything is pretty sturdy but set up does take 2 people. It was kind of a challenge when the wind was gusting on the beach, but eventually we got it down. I used sand anchors like these: http://www.rei.com/product/725165/rei-snow-and-sand-tent-anchors

While a lot of our neighbors had their stakes pull out, had none even with the huge gusts of wind over the 2 nights at Carolina Beach. I did pack a full size shovel to dig out 2-3 foot deep holes to place about 10-12 of the anchors (put a little wet sand in each and buried it). Also got some reflective guide lines to connect the anchors to the tent.

Pups inside the screened in area. It doesn't come with a ground tarp for the screened in area, but you can purchase one from them or another approximately 6ftx7ft that will work perfectly well.

Not sure how the Campright interfaces with the the back end of the SUV, but the Napier Sportz does it really well. It has a "tunnel" that zippers on to the tent. So if needed one could zip off the connector tunnel and drive off. The tent is pretty sturdy and doesn't need to be connected to a vehicle at all.

Sounds good. Thanks for the review, as it's good to know this tent works as advertised.

Thanks for the review on a comp tent. That one looks very nice. Better hearing a little feedback also. I cant find much on the Campright. Any chance you want to sell that one? haha.
