While passing by a local muffler shop/auto garage here in Camas, WA I spotted this beauty. I couldn't resist stopping and taking a closer look. The shop was closed so I didn't get any info on it. Does it look familiar to anyone or belong to a mud member?

It is super straight and original. Great patina too.

Anyone know the story on this one?

Even the bed was in good shape! I tried for some interior shots but the Windows were too dirty. It looked like it has been sitting for a good while. If I didn't have a garage full of cruisers and another inbound from AU, I would be at the shop with a pocket full of cash!

I'd still be at the shop with a pocket of cash! Oh, maybe that's my problem.
Nice 45.

I hear you, I'm just finishing a year long resto on one of the 45's.

I got a few PM's from different folks who reached out about wanting more info and if the truck was for sale.

When I have an opportunity later this week I will do some further investigating at the shop and see what I can come up
with. Hopefully the vultures haven't been circling already and I get ran out!

If I get more info I will pass it on.

Not bad for a guy on west coast

Now if it's for sale it gonna depend on the FAT wallet

I was going to mention that , I called and the guy that answered was not very happy about me inquiring on the 45 . Said he was only working on it and was not for sale, that the owners wife wants to drive it . Thanks for the great pics Rustic and wishful thinking.
Suppose I could have posted that info but I thought I would spare the poor mechanic from getting blasted with phone calls about the truck.

Chalk in up to free advertising I guess.

I got a different take on it he seemed like a very nice guy and told me to drop a note in glove box I said I was in NY and could not do that. Offered a little PayPal incentive and would not here of it. Nice guy is what I thought, maybe you called after me as I called when they opened. All in all I think that rig can be had but have no clue at what price. I'm sure someone on the west coast will end up with it prolly one of those guys who has 3 beautiful patina-Ed fj45s already. I often wonder how many are out there that nobody knows about.

I talked with a guy at TLC4X4 and he said that between 1964-1967 , about 1800 FJ45 LPB's were brought in. I do not know if his information is reliable, but they seem to be pretty scarce. And even more so in original condition.

Funny, we all own a 45, and yet still want another one! What has happened now, is the shop owner is asking the old original owner why he is getting calls and bribes to buy his old $1500 toyota. The old man wonders the same thing and goes on line to discover he actually has a collector highly sought after fj45. Now the price is $15000!!!!

America what a great place. $15000....maybe. I did not bribe I said I would give him a little something if he hand delivered my number, after he removed all the other numbers in the glove box. I needed some kind of advantage since I'm so far away. In any case it would be a great project, and I would not paint.......ever
