Was sorting through the hard lines to get those plated and got to the bin with the EGR Cooler. The J Pipe could be disconnected but nothing else. While beating on the flex pipe connection in an effort to get them free, piles of rust started to fall out of the cooler.

I’m not going to try to remove those 10mm bolts on the cooler cover because they are super rusted and heat soaked and guaranteed to break.

My ignorant plan is to soak this in evaporust, paint with high temp header paint and re-install. Before I do that I want to know what’s inside. Just a series of cast iron cavities for exhaust gasses? Anything more complex?

I’ll send some compressed air through it to make sure it’s not clogged and I’ll test the valve once installed and running.

Anyone know of a replacement? Anyone do anything else to ‘restore’ the EGR Cooler?
