We attempted to do the caster bushings yesterday when we did the lift... but the socket was just a hair too small. I meant to get the tool from SLEE, but when i got my other parts, just ended up getting the bushings through Man-a-fre and theirs didnt come with it.

Anyone have one you'd be able to let me borrow for a weekend?

Dave, you can split a section of pipe and re-weld it in a vise to the proper diam. Slee's are alum and can deform after a few uses. Using some steel pipe is quick and works.

C'mon, you can fab up that nice ladder and you cant split some pipe and re-weld it?:flipoff2:

I would gladly help you out my brother, but I don't have one. So the next best thing is to mess with you. :D The build is coming along good.

I just thought of something, I have a slee speedo gear for 285's if you are interested. Still in the package but never installed. Let me know.

is that the same one you use for 295's? Yeah, ill take it.

I know they are 295's but it is pretty close and a whole lot cheaper than the super lift calibrator. I will PM you. ;)

well yeah, you can get as crazy as you want with caster correction. Here's mine with the CC bushings up front and I eventually added ones in the rear mounts...

Bjowett documented this mod some time ago in the 80's tech (https://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=14506)

I like that Mike, with the bushings that gives you alot of adjustment.. I just took a bolt and nut put it in the top of the bracket and pushed down on the front of the J arm untill I got the caster I wanted then made and welded a small plate in place.. if I remember it was about 5/8 to 3/4 of an inch down... been a couple of years...

i got one (genuine OME), i am in san diego, its in nice shape, come get it and you can use it! :D
