I'll be leaving Laguna Niguel, around 1pm Friday if anyone wants to caravan.
One of my best friends does maintenance and restoration work for the Hearst Castle (state employee)...he says there are some pretty technical, tight trails behind the big house.... I told him to check if we can have "access" and ride in...
that would be insane...From pics he sent me it looks like the brush would be pretty tight...They ride ATVs on those trails for site surveying or whatever it is they do out there..

That would be awesome. I can just imagine 300 Toyotas behind Hearst Castle. That would be some cool pix. Ask the guy to take a few pics if he can. I'd like to at least see the surveying trail.

In all seriousness my buddy thinks it would be next to impossible to get a personal vehicle back there without major hassle...but the ATV ride sounds promising...
Don't get your neck in a noose you can't get out of. It would be great to be able to wheel in sight of the castle.

Right there with you Sammy, I made my reservations. Look like i will be staying 3 nights after all Thur, Fri, Sat and i will be driving home early Sunday to get back to work. My Clutch started to give this week, so i ordered a new one is should be here on Monday. Then i started wiring up my e-locker so i can be locked for the sand, and now i am starting to pack in my head.
