Don't forget that a top plate spacer is different than just a spacer lift. Otherwise, good, basic, info.

yep this is true. Those are probobly a bit more unique to IFS rigs or rigs with coil over shock set ups like the FJC, 100 series, Full size dodges, etc, I don't remember seeing to many of that style kits for the FJC but ya generally those are good also becuase they move both the shock & the spring down, thus not over extend your shocks...

My 3" OME is a little soft in the front (884 springs). It is fine on the street, but becomes noticiable off road. I think I may swap it for the All Pro coilovers soon.

Hi Rockrawler - hope your up wheeling at Mountain Fest.

In hindsight I should have gone with All Pro, Donahoe , or OME all of them great systems. I didn't go with OME since I wanted adjustable ride hieght up front, Should have new suspension (replacing Downey this week)

saw the all pro (walker evans) rear shock snap off at the top stud,today. No hard core stuff just minor dirt trails.
My OME light coils are rubbing on th e front strut, am happy with their performance, but am going to change to Sway-A-Way front and rear from our friends at Metal Tech! tunable and rebuildable-Made in the USA!

YOu probably saw the old walker evan rear shock I have heard of that before, the stud has now been improved and that is not a problem.

I love my walker evans (allpro) great set up, unlike the person above stating they are soft, if adjusted they can be stiff as a race car or softer then stock. I ride them on the street real stiff, off road I like the floaty feel They eat up the washboard @ high speeds and @ slow they take on rock gardens like nothing. The other night I didn't even realize I had my tires @ 40 psi because the shocks took on everything like it was aired down Great setup!!!!!! I'm super happy w/ my kit

Downey suspension got removed this morning & replaced with Donahoe. There was a surprise with the failed Downey coilover in that it wasn't locked up & the rod had sheared. :huh:

I have had my downey lift since may of last year without problems.
After I installed it I noticed the rear was soft and didnt lift it as much as I wanted. I installed the allpro spacer under the rear coils and problem was solved. Im hoping your failure is isolated to a bad bilstein. My rig has been offroad all most every week since I bought it. I have beat the hell out of the suspension and all is good. Anything mechanical can fail.
