Anybody have the spare mounted on the inside of the truck's bed? Got any pictures?

Has anyone made a spare tire mount on the inside of the bed? My son is going with 33" tires on his 92 xtra cab and we are thinking of mounting the spare inside the bed.

Thanks,
ML

Lots of the baja style out there, I never saw the point of them though as they take up tons of bed space. I thought about mounting one behind the rear wheel well, between the well and the tailgate standing up. No pics, Im moving p in size and I dont think a 35 will fit there. May build or modify a swing out to work.

No pics, but my favorite one was a simple loop of pipe with a half circle bend at the top. When in place it looked like an A with vertical sides and a rounded top. It had a foot made form bar stock the same width as the diameter of the pipe. The foot was carriage bolted to the bed of the pickup. Where it connected to the side rail of the bed it had standoffs to hold it in some from the side. These were there to allow a topper to be put on. The tire was bolted to a flat 1/4" plate of metal between the two verticals using long bolts. The plate had a few holes in it at different heights. Note, the standoffs were actually connected to this plate. When the tire was removed, nearly the whole width of the tailgate was usable. For security, the tire was cable locked to an eye welded to the foot.

I like this option, what size spare is that in the picture? Seems like a good use of space that really needs a purpose.

Zuk, in all the years I have been reading your posts on 4x4wire, I just now realized exactly where you are. I have a good friend from college who lives in Chandler, if I am out that way sometime I may have to look you up, if for no other reason than to just shake your hand and say thanks for all that you have done over the years, you and engnbldr if I ever get up to the PNW.

Now that is what I was talking about. Not sure how big a spare can fit there but I know my 32" fit just sitting there.
