Hey! everyone . i have been looking for some Koyo knuckle bearings
trying to avoid paying the $40 dollars a piece from toyota . anybody have any they want to sell . i called Koyo canada and they are on a 2 month back order, BC bearing doesn't have any and can't find any either ,they also don't do automotive bearings anymore. and would have to order in 50 of them to get some in ,when they become available .
any suggestions .

i also have not contacted Steve yet either anybody . :bang:

trying to avoid ordering from the U.S.

Jake

Give Kaman a call I got some there a few years ago. They have a warehouse on Annacis Island.

we've been using Timken for just that reason
I have a box of fresh stock sitting beside me at the front counter
let me know if you want a set.

called Kaman they no longer deal with automotive bearings.

That's what they all say over the phone. If you go in and have a sample and don't tell them it's automotive they often have it. If it's obviously automotive or posted in the catalog that way then you are SOL. It gets me a little ticked off as I can go into a Koyo distributor here in Guatemala and get anything I want INCLUDING automotive. A full set of tranny bearings for the H41 was under $100!!

Yup, when my dad had a shop in north van we used to buy automotive bearings on occassion from bc bearing. You just ask for them by the part number stamped on the bearing and race, not by application. I bought my knuckle bearings there but its been a few years now.
Cost wise you are better off to buy a knuckle kit (bearings included) and do a knuckle overhaul at the same time.

brain fart , I had just received the shipment of wheel bearings before I checked the MUD list
our wheel bearings at this time are Timkens

I usually carry individual Koyo knuckle bearings but have no stock right now

"Full rebuild" Koyo knuckle kit is $165 includes 4 bearings, 4 seals, shim set, star washers, gaskets, dust seal/disk things, and wiper kits. In stock right now

thanks everybody .i never told b.c. bearing or Kaman it was for a toyota or automotive .they both said they new by the first two letters also phoned Action bearings and drives .they too new it was for a toyota once i rattled off the number , i also was in contact with Koyo canada .seems they are out of the knuckle bearings . and are on a two month back order .

B.C. bearing did measure it and can get a NSK 30303J but they said the taper might be different and something else about the spec was different , can't remember what ?anybody no anything about the NSK number .they carry them for $21.50 ea.
aren't these Japanese as well

If you use the 30303 bearing, might be good to have a shim kit handy. If you've got the SST for the knuckles it will help determine the amount of shimming needed. The bearing has a steeper taper and I believe one less roller bearing. I think the Timken is the same number "30303", but I could be wrong (usually am). The last front end rebuild I did I bought Steve's kit c/w Koyo's, no shim adjustment required.

 Steve .will keep that in mind ,thanks for the quick response.
still gonna look , i still have one knuckle to pull off
and then clean everything up . everybody likes pics .
getting everything organized to
put in my used marfields ,
one day i will get the longfields,
pic below of my junk ,lukes highsteer kit, marlin seals .and mini knuckle upgrade with asins, also finished the vented rotors upgrade onto the mini hubs .

 Jake

I'd avoid a bearing with the wrong taper. You'll beat the snot out of them really fast, especially off road, if the taper is too steep.

just an upate , B.C. bearing will be able to get the Koyo's TR0305AF4 and any other automotive bearing you may need .i guess my email to head office in toronto created some confusion and they misinterpreted my question as a complaint .
they sent a western canada sales rep to B.C bearing on Annacis and he has now corrected the issue .:grinpimp:
the sale rep who contacted me was a pleasure to deal with ,seems Koyo gets upset when a toyota enthusiast can't get a hold of the Koyo's ,he said something about Toyota is Koyo or is one of the primary share holder's.

We'll all owe you one for that!! It should make bearings at least 50% cheaper!!:cheers::cheers::cheers:

may as well post up the names ,the western Canada sales rep if anybody has any issues is
Peter Turley (Koyo ) and at B.C. bearing it is either
Bob or Daniel ,both of them should be or is suppose to be able to take care of you,
also there is no minimum order either, if they try to tell you that .

i will need to use the SST anyways i am swapping knuckles.

What did you use for an SST? I used to have one and loan it out. Got lost in the last transaction and I am still waiting for repayment...

Thanks for your work at BC bearing. Ordering 4 bearings on Monday.

EDIT: The above statement was not looking for the SST. I wanted to know where a local is, when I need to rent it...as mine was lost apparently in transit while coming back to me...after loaning it out over and yon across the Rockies. I am still waiting. Been a few years now...and no response to e-mails. Insurance was paid apparently, but I did not recieve it. An no...it's no one we all know and love. They are all stand up guys and gals.
