The Tundra Program Manager sent this over today, the Toyota Technical Center gave a Tundra to a Texas rancher to use for 100K miles and then tore it down for inspection.

Some tech involved, 3 short videos tell the short story. Pretty fun too if you happen to know some Texas folks.

Toyota Tundra Deconstructed

A little bright spot in an otherwise pretty dim week (month !) at work.

Enjoy. Dan.

I have 140,000 miles on mine and only issue I have had so far was with factory CD player. :D. Great truck and great ride

103k on my '06 and the only issue has been one of the TPMS sensors went bad. I use mine as a work truck and we often go to jobsites that are many miles offroad so it gets a lot of abuse.

...oh, and a headlight burned out. :D

Im a big fan of the older Tundras. Owned it for 3 years and it ran like a charm. Used it as a DD, work truch with heavy loads, and a bunch of hunting and camping trips.

Never had the luxury of owning the new body Tundra, atleast not yet:)

I have to admit that was a really cool video series. I figured it was going to be a Toyota fluff job. The Texas rancher was classic, he did not strike me as someone who would lie about his experience with the Toyota truck. Ford and Chevy should send him a couple of trucks to test. Thanks for posting that up.

I love my 03 4x4 with 120k on it. I love it more now that it has Icon coilovers, Camburg UCAs, and Deavers in the back.

If it had more room inside it would be perfect.

I loved my '00. We bought it in 09/99. It was a great truck and I do miss it at times. It had some funky brake issues however.

Baja - gulf side - maybe south of San Felipe or Puertocitos?

Sure looks good where ever it is

Good eye. Just south of Puertocitos. The gf and I were trying to get to Gonzaga bay but my battery had a complete failure. Getting that taken care of was a hell of an adventure itself.

1200 lbs of concrete and steel in the back of my Tundra last week. These Deavers have no load capacity. Oh well, at least I only had to go about a mile like this.
