Is there any trick to installing a new foot rest (part no. 58190-60120) on an LX470? I'm finding it quick hard to line up the mounts to the studs in the footwell. It feels like I'm going in blindly and I don't want to push too hard and break the plastic.

Just push it on. Don’t over think it.

Hit it on with a rubber mallet. Someone on this forum broke one trying to install it, but unfortunately there really is no other way.

I don't think you can push so hard you break it. In fact, once you push it on by hand, sit in the seat and push it with your foot.

I think the attachment of those on a 100 series is very lame. Mine is in place, but feels very janky and loose. The FJ62 got the footrest attachment right.

Mine had two long lock clips which can be spun by a screwdriver. Your looks like one piece unit.

When I broke mine off I JB Weld'ed the broken pieces back on, gave it a couple days to harden, then pushed it back into place and its been there ever since lol

That’s how I got mine on. Made sure it was lined up and just sat in the seat and pushed on it really hard till it clicked in.
