Anybody thinking of going for the club run down at Wapairous?

I wasn't thinking I would, but I should be getting a locker in a week or two. So if the weather is nice, I might have to go and see how much farther I can get locked with 33" swampers than open with chained 28" ATs.

That's kind of my big concern. If it's decently cold, I don't know that my gear is warm enough. Might have to have a browse through some catalogues. Boy, we had nice sleeping bags when I worked with the Geological Survey back in Manitoba. One of those would be killer.

I think I'm going. I'd like to figure out how to get some heat into the tent before then since I don't have a good winter bag anymore.

You could try one of those 12V mini heaters and a spare battery? I did buy one for my dodge when the fan stopped working and it blew up in about an hour, but maybe they make better ones than the cheap crap one I bought at Canadain Tire (seen they were recently on sale for $19)
Cheers,

Yeah I have a Korean era Canadian Force Mummy that is simply worn out. The canvas is actually so thin that I can't sew it anymore. The thing kicked butt and I'm inclined to wrap it in another layer of camo ductape to hold whats left of the down in it and sleep in it. I'm going to have another look at the army surplus places before I head to MEC for a new bag.

I've found that in really cold weather two decent bags are way better than one great bag. Its not like we are hiking, just put all your blankies in your wagon.

I have a Webasto mostly installed in my 74 so I could conceivably install a heater core in the tent but time is running out and I'm in the midst of some other projects.

You can't really go too far wrong with a $19 investment.

I do have a small generator that I carry on the tire carrier now. I could just run it and take a small ceramic heater to pre warm the tent. Glamping at its finest.

I can send yours down to you if you want.

Well, my mummy bag fits in my barrel bag...... maybe I can work out some kind of hot rock, or hot sand heater too. (i.e. heat in the fire, place in something safe inside my truck.
