Any good trails near Reno still open??

We were just talking about this at the meeting last night.

Right now it looks like most of the trails around Virginia City are still open. The rains this week could change that, the mud up there gets kind of fierce.

The Smoke Creek/Pyramid Lake area should stay passable since it is mostly sandy. Not a lot of technical trails, but some pretty country.

Some of the Forest Service roads around Verdi go from being Honda CIVIC friendly in summer to level 4 difficulty in winter.

Right on Rusty, just the kind of info I need...here is the link to the Norcal Thread. If any of you Nevada people want to join in the run or even want to take the lead let me know.
Nevada Run After Xmas or early Jan - NorCal FJs

We are looking for something near the Reno area (within 80 miles).

Thanks,

The local forecast is calling for normal to above normal temps and lots of precip over the next week or so. That means MUD.

Oh, you'd love our "dry" deserts.

Just make sure everyone has a front AND rear winch....
