Any good Craigslist-monitoring add-on/program/app/gadget you'd recommend?

I'm looking for an easy computer (not phone) app or add-on that would allow me to monitor Craigslist in real time for specific keywords. I don't have time to do something complicated with macros and what not so something easy and ready to go.

Ideally, it should allow me to specify a given craigslist location, perhaps a subsection, and look for some given keywords at specified intervals without any intervention, post the results, and miracle of all miracles set an alarm when something comes up.

I've used the iGoogle Craigslist monitor gadget a bit for this but it's pretty limited and I would like to find a better one.

Anything you'd recommend (from first hand experience preferably)?

RSS feed with google reader works pretty well.

I thought I might have to figure that one out...

OK, I fired up Google Reader. Very easy, took me only 30 secs to get some CL searches subscriptions going. Now to figure out how to set up the refresh rate and also see if there is a way to set up alarms.

I use Firefox. Is there a preferred RSS reader for FF? I'm seeing "Sage" and "Update Scanner" as fairly popular and highly rated. A few brief tests suggest that Update Scanner is not bad at all. I can set up the criteria for scanning and alarms. Might do the trick. More later.

Not that I know of. You just have to go through and do it manually. Once you do it though, its really easy to check.

I still havn't figured out how to make it send email alerts though. so I just check it often.

I was testing / trying those online search engines but not sure if you can trust in the search result you get through...

well, I've use that add-on to FF I mentioned: "Update Scanner" for a while now. It works fine. For some reason it's taxing my old XP system but on Win7 it works great.
It tells me when any page including custom search pages on CL has changed. I can choose the interval and the number of characters changed to trigger the alarm.
Not bad.
