My 4runner is going under the knife in three weeks and I am thinking of changing my plans and running coils. What type of coils should I be looking for? I am really liking the idea of coils over leafs but I can't find much information on anything but coilovers.

I was thinking more along the lines of just coils and no leafs. I was just going to do a three link in the rear and something similar in the front.

i wouldnt do this conversion. But thats just me.
around here, when a guy buys a second gen 4Runner, he SAS the front and chops out the rear coils and fabs in some leafs.

It seems it would be better to swap in coil-overs instead of plain coils.
and run a 4 link, instead of a three.

I remember a few years back, there was a very informative FOURWHEELER issue that covered the 3,4 and 5 link setups. if you can track that issue down, i think it will be a big help.

Is the four link just for stability? Because this is a driver and that may be a reason to upgrade from the three to a four, but I still want it to flex really well. I would love to run coilovers but they sure are spendy. If anyone feels bad for me being a poor college student, you can send me cash or paypal. Just pm me and I will give you my address ;)
