The worst frame rust is at the rear Channel (where it always is.) If the outer channel is still there you have a shot at repairing it. I've seen people handle worse on here. but $3200 is alot. 165,000 is pretty low for miles.

That would be WAY too much rust for me. What part of the country are you in? If you don't mind a little travel and a road trip home, you should be able to find one in the same price range that is fairly clean.

Knowing what I know now, I would be less concerned about a high mileage truck and rather have one that is clean.

I wanted a nice camping rig that I wouldnt care if it got the crap beat out of it, I wanted it for a couple years not a serious build. I'm in Missouri, right in the heart of salt country, if there is a chance of snow they salt the roads for a week before and a week after the storm. It was a colorado truck but moved here in the late 90's. I should have picked up one of these when I lived in colorado for 10 years, they all looked great out that way...

I've been looking for about 6 months now and have not found much...
I can weld and I can turn a wrench.. I had a 71 bronco that was much much worse, everything was rotten with rust, in the end I sold it cause it was going to cost me an arm and a leg to get it into shape, I'd rather start with something good this time.

Thanks for all the posts.
I'll post what happens if I offer 1500.

All you need is a fab guy that will fix you up but some will not touch frames. If you get this rig tell the fab guy (if you go that route) you will not hold him responceable for anything that may go wrong. Some shops around here will not touch a frame due too liability. Yea the price is way high:cheers:Good luck keep us posted.
